What happens from your first message to the months after treatment, and how we handle reviews. You will not find testimonials or patient stories on this page: we would rather show you how care is organised.

Your first message

Most people start with a question on WhatsApp or through the form. Tell us what you would like to change and anything that matters to you, such as when you could travel. Photos are optional and can come later, only if you choose to share them. There is no obligation at any stage.

Your messages are confidential. Doctors in Türkiye are bound by professional secrecy, and we do not discuss your enquiry or your treatment with anyone without your permission. When you are ready, ask Dr. İlker your first question.

An honest first opinion and a written plan

Op. Dr. Bilgehan İlker reviews your enquiry and tells you whether an examination makes sense, which options exist and what each involves. Sometimes the honest answer is a smaller procedure, a non-surgical option, waiting until your weight or family plans are settled, or no treatment at all.

If you would like to go ahead, you receive a personal plan stating what is and is not included, so that you can decide with the full picture in front of you.

The examination in Istanbul

Suitability is always confirmed in person. At the practice in Ataköy, Dr. İlker takes your medical history, examines you and goes through the plan, the expected recovery and the risks. Any tests needed before surgery are arranged.

You should never feel rushed. UK guidance recommends time to think between consultation and surgery, and you sign the consent forms only when you are ready, before any procedure. If you decide not to go ahead, that is your decision to make.

The day of surgery

Operations take place in a licensed hospital in Istanbul. You are told when to stop eating and drinking, you meet the anaesthetist, and Dr. İlker performs your operation. Many operations involve one night in hospital; your plan says what applies to you.

After a general anaesthetic, someone should take you back to where you are staying and stay with you for the first 24 hours. If you are travelling, it helps to bring a companion.

Aftercare and check-ups

Check-ups continue in Istanbul until you are fit to fly. Before you leave, you know how to reach the clinic, how your later check-ups will happen and which signs need prompt attention. Recovery then continues at home, often for several months before the final result shows.

How we handle reviews

  • Reviews are written on independent platforms such as Google. We cannot edit, hide or choose which reviews appear there.
  • We never offer payment, discounts or gifts in exchange for a review.
  • We do not publish testimonials or patient stories on this website. If we ever show a review here, it will be only with the author's written permission, unedited apart from removing personal details, and in the order reviews were written.
  • A review describes one person's experience. It cannot tell you what your own result will be.

Can I talk to a former patient?

We do not pass on patients' contact details, because their privacy matters as much as yours will. To read about other people's experiences, use the independent review platforms linked on this page, where reviews are written and published without our involvement. Remember that a review describes one person's experience, not what your own result will be.

Why are there no testimonials on this website?

Because a selected testimonial cannot tell you what your result will be, and it is easy to choose only the happiest stories. Medical advertising rules in Türkiye, and in many of the countries our patients come from, also restrict testimonials. We prefer to explain the process clearly and point you to independent platforms, where we cannot edit or choose what you read.

What if I am not happy with my result?

Tell us, and raise it at a check-up. Swelling can hide the final result for months, up to around a year after a rhinoplasty, so early concerns are often part of normal healing. If a further procedure is ever needed, what it involves depends on your situation; ask before surgery how this would be handled, and make sure the answer is part of your written plan.
