Before and after photos
Real photos can help you understand what a procedure changes, but only if they are honest. These are the rules every before and after photo on this website must meet, and what a photo can and cannot tell you.
Before and after photos are shared only with patients’ written consent. You can ask to see examples during your consultation.
Our rules for every photo
- Real patients only. Every photo shows a patient of Op. Dr. Bilgehan İlker. No stock images, no photos from other clinics and no images created or altered with AI.
- Written consent. Photos are published only with the patient's written consent, given on a separate form. Patients see the images before publication and can withdraw consent at any time; the photos are then removed promptly.
- No reward for consent. Agreeing or refusing has no effect on a patient's care or fees, and no one receives payment, a discount or a gift for allowing their photos to be shown.
- Same conditions. Before and after photos are taken in the same light, from the same angle and distance, with the same camera settings.
- No retouching. No filters, editing or make-up changes. The only permitted change protects identity, such as covering the eyes or cropping, exactly as the patient chose.
- Dated. Each set shows the date of the procedure and how long afterwards the 'after' photo was taken. Photos from the first weeks are labelled as early results, not final ones.
- Typical, not exceptional. We do not pick only the most striking results.
- Limits we keep. Adults only. No photos of intimate areas and no photos taken during surgery.
What a photo can and cannot tell you
A photo shows one person's result at one point in time. It cannot show what your result will be, because anatomy, skin quality, healing and the starting point differ from person to person. Results also keep changing: swelling after a rhinoplasty can take around a year to settle, and ageing and changes in weight affect any result over the years.
Seeing examples relevant to you
Not every procedure has photos here, and some never will, such as intimate procedures. If you would like to see examples that are relevant to your procedure and your starting point, ask at your consultation.
Photos you send us with your questions are a separate matter: they are used only to assess your enquiry and are never published. Read more on the Ask Dr. İlker page.
Frequently asked questions
Are the photos retouched?
No. Before and after photos are shown exactly as taken, without retouching, filters or make-up changes, and in the same light, from the same angle and at the same distance. The only permitted change protects identity, such as covering the eyes or cropping, and only in the way the patient chose when giving consent.
Can I see results for someone with a similar starting point?
Ask at your consultation. Dr. İlker can show examples that are relevant to your procedure and anatomy, where the patients concerned have consented to this. Bear in mind that even a similar starting point does not mean a similar result, because skin, healing and anatomy differ from person to person.
Will my photos be used if I have treatment?
Only if you agree in writing, on a separate consent form that is not part of your treatment consent. Saying no has no effect on your care or your fees, and you receive no payment, discount or gift for saying yes. If you agree, you see the images before they are published and can withdraw your consent at any time.
